4 Successful Dating Tips While Traveling
So many singles over 30 are busy business men and men who travel for business. Just because you are a Road Warrior and travel for business, maybe as a consultant, IT guru, or salesperson, this need not be a dampener to your dating life.
But what are you to do?
Get to the Airport Early!
Obviously if you meet another business person at the same airports where you are, they either live there or frequent that area for business. You could meet for a date another time.
1. DO Give yourself buffer time at the airport
First of all, stop being to mono-focused about racing to and from the location where you are working. As a Road Warrior, you are probably excellent at packing your luggage and giving yourself just the right amount of time at the airport. However, as a dating expert, I recommend you add about a 45 minute buffer time each side of your time at the airport to allow for you to have a little connection time with other travels.
The best places to do this are at the Bar or Bar and Grill sort places most airports have.
2. DO Belly Up to the Bar
When you are grabbing a drink or two before your flight, do sit at the bar, make a point of sitting next to others and not in the seat with two empty stools on either side of you. OK, maybe one empty stool between you and the others. The point is, leverage proximity and make it easy for them to casually talk with you.
If it is in the morning, the Bar and Grill venues are excellent and also sit at the bar there while you enjoy your eggs and a Bloody Mary or a coffee.
Same idea, whether you are eating food or just grabbing a drink, sit where others can easily talk with you.
3. DO Open Your Mouth
Find some reason to talk with the other people.
"Hey, would you pass me the Tabasco sauce, please?"
"Hey, would you please pass me the pepper shaker? Thanks."
Something.
Once that is the case, say thank you, again, and then ask what they do and where they are going to, do you live here, or are you working here?
Just casual chit chat and be sure to flirt just a little.
4. DO Stay in Touch Until Your First Date
Then do exchange business cards and follow up. Men, give her a call within a few days just to chat and touchbase. It might be a few weeks until you two can actually have a date. You will need to keep in touch a little bit in between having met her and when you two have your first date. An email or two, a short phone call.
As you leverage these easy dating tips while you are traveling for business, as single guys and single gals, you can enjoy a wonderful dating social life and build a great romantic relationship.
Happy Dating!

As the holidays approach, please take note of a few travel tips that may help you. First get to the airport early. Give yourself time for longer lines as the airlines have reduced staff and have less people on duty to assist you with check in. Also plan ahead to go through security. Put your cell phones and other objects that may set of the metal detector into your carry on bag before you get into the security line. Have your 1 quart bag of liquids easily accessible so you do not need to dig for it when you are ready to be screen. Same with your laptop. You need to be at the gate 20 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart or the airline can give your seat to someone else. And with more and more flights being overbooked this increases the chances of this happening. A little bit of planning and thinking ahead will go along way to make your holiday travels go more smoothlyand reduce your stress.
Frequent travelers, discount airfare shoppers and the like, please note the tips of an airline insider will be more and more valuable as the price of oil continues to climb and so do airfares. Finding the best fares and knowing how to avoid getting bumped from a flight will become more and more important as the airlines continue to reduce the number of flights they are running and increase the practice of over booking the remaining flights to ensure they are as full as possible. I can't say that I blame them, the fuel costs have gone though the roof.
But as I said below, I would rather the airlines simply increased the price of the ticket, rather than coming up with all these crazy charges that just annoy the hell out of most passengers. I will tell you right now that i am avoiding flying American Airlines if at all possible, simply because I refuse to pay for my first bag that I check. Where is the logic? People will simply pack as much as possible in their carry-on bags. then the flight attendants will have to deal with there being no where near enough over head space for the carry-ons and time will be wasted gate checking the bags that should have been checked at the counter. And I am surre many of the road warriors out there feel the same way and are avoiding the airlines that have the worst luggage rules. So times are tough, why would you set policies in place that aggravate a good percentage of your client base? Sounds like an ivory tower management decision to me.
What the hell is going on in the airline industry. American Airline is charging for every bag you check. I understand it is tough times, so raise your ticket prices don't nickel and dime me with all these crazy surcharges.
By the way loose Lithium batteries are now banned from your checked luggage. These are usually the rechargeable type like used for digital cameras. for more information go to this TSA website.

Personally I like Hotwire for finding rental car deals. And they have great prices on airfare & hotel packages and airfare only. I also got a great price on my all inclusive resort vacation in Cancun airfare included from them. Use the link above to check them out for planning your next trip.
Life on the road can be pretty brutal. You need to be sure you are taking care of your self and eating properly. How many nights can you sit in you hotel room and watch American Idol. Get out and do something different. If you normally are pretty stuffy about where you like to dine. change things up and eat at a diner or a burger joint. Take a walk in the evening, after all you probably sat in a chair most of your day. Sit at the bar at the restaurant and chat up the bartender. They usual appreciate a little conversation and it will often lead to better service and maybe even a free drink later in the night. ________________________________________________________________________
Excuse me I was just on the phone booking my next last minute travel flight and discount hotel. I am a consultant in the financial services industry and am currently traveling extensively for my JOB. As I said above I have been traveling on the road every week of 2008. Although one week was a much needed vacation travel with my wife to Cancun. And another was to go to my friend Kevin Hogan's Influence Boot camp in Las Vegas. I would recommend both. And if I had to choose just one, I would go to Kevin's Boot Camp, it was an amazing experience. See his link at the top of the Links & Contacts page
I am well versed at the tricks of the road warrior travel. I think I belong to almost every airlines frequent flier program. I am platinum with Marriott and Diamond with Hilton. I have the art of maximizing the space in my luggage, especially my carry on roller board down to a science. Also there are a few simple things you can do to reduce the time you spend in the screening process (see Security Tips)With all of this travel experience it only seems natural that I review and bring to you the best of travel information available. How to get the best price on your discount airline travel. Where to find the most accurate reviews of discount hotels and resorts. The best prices on luggage. If you don't see what you are looking for drop me a note at scott@scottalexanderbell.com and I will do my very best to find an answer for you.
In addition to all of my travel for my JOB, I also enjoy traveling for pleasure. I have been to several places, and I would have to say my favorite place for pure beauty is Cleopatra's Island in Turkey. The sand was shipped in by Mark Anthony from Egypt to create an amazing beach. He also had a theater built there as well. The sand is perfect and the water is such a crystal clear shade of blue. The water could be 30 feet deep and you can see the bottom as clear is can be.
